Peppermint Oreo Balls (Printer-Friendly)

Soft chocolate balls with peppermint, coated in smooth white chocolate and a candy cane sprinkle finish.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Cookies

01 - Regular Oreo cookies, crushed (avoid Double Stuf for best shape retention)

→ Dairy

02 - Cream cheese, softened to room temperature

→ Flavorings

03 - Peppermint extract

→ Coating

04 - White chocolate melting wafers
05 - Crushed candy canes (optional garnish)

# Steps to Make This:

01 - Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a resealable plastic bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
02 - Mix the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese and peppermint extract in a large bowl until thoroughly combined.
03 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a cookie scoop, portion the mixture into small balls and roll them gently by hand to smooth the surface. Arrange evenly on the baking sheet.
04 - Place the baking sheet with prepared balls into the freezer for 30 minutes to firm up.
05 - In a separate bowl, melt the white chocolate melting wafers by microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and fully melted.
06 - Remove the firm cookie balls from the freezer. Using a fork, dip each ball into the melted white chocolate, allow excess to drip off, then place back onto the parchment paper. While coating is still wet, sprinkle crushed candy canes on top as garnish.
07 - Refrigerate the coated balls for at least 15 minutes to allow the white chocolate to firm before serving.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For best results, work quickly when dipping and garnishing to prevent the chocolate from cooling and becoming difficult to handle.
02 - Store finished treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to 3 weeks. They may also be frozen for up to 8 weeks.
