Spaghetti with garlic oil (Printer-Friendly)

A fast, flavorful spaghetti dish with garlic, olive oil, and a touch of spice.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Pasta

01 - 12 oz spaghetti

→ Oil and Aromatics

02 - ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
03 - 6 large garlic cloves, thinly sliced
04 - ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

→ Liquid

05 - ¼ cup reserved pasta cooking water

→ Optional Garnishes

06 - Shaved Parmesan cheese
07 - Chopped fresh parsley
08 - Sun-dried tomatoes
09 - Lemon juice or zest

# Steps to Make This:

01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente according to package instructions.
02 - While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until garlic turns light golden brown, taking care not to burn it. Remove from heat if garlic cooks before pasta is ready.
03 - Drain spaghetti reserving ¼ cup of pasta water. Transfer pasta to the saucepan with garlic oil. Add reserved pasta water and sauté over medium heat until the water evaporates and pasta is evenly coated.
04 - Taste and adjust seasoning with salt or additional red pepper flakes as desired. Garnish with chopped parsley and shaved Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Monitor garlic carefully when sautéing to avoid burning and ensure a nutty, golden flavor.
02 - Always salt pasta water generously to enhance the overall dish flavor.
03 - Prep all ingredients beforehand to maintain continuous cooking flow.
