Juicy chicken cooked in barbecue sauce for a flavorful, hands-off meal packed with savory comfort.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Main

01 - 2.2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
02 - 1 cup barbecue sauce
03 - 1 medium yellow onion, diced
04 - 3 cloves garlic, minced

→ Seasonings

05 - Salt, to taste
06 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
07 - Chopped fresh chives, for garnish (optional)

# Steps to Make This:

01 - Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water, then pat them thoroughly dry using paper towels. Dice the onion and mince the garlic.
02 - Season the chicken on both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Optionally, sprinkle with additional herbs or spices such as paprika or garlic powder.
03 - Place the diced onion and minced garlic into the bottom of the slow cooker, creating an even layer.
04 - Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts on top of the onions and garlic. Pour the barbecue sauce evenly over the chicken to ensure full coverage.
05 - Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
06 - Transfer the cooked chicken breasts to a large bowl and shred using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker, mixing well with the sauce.
07 - Serve the barbecue chicken hot, garnished with chopped fresh chives if desired.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For richer flavor, try using boneless chicken thighs or add a splash of apple cider vinegar to the sauce.
