# What You’ll Need:

→ Proteins

01 - 1 lb ground beef, lean
02 - 1 lb ground pork sausage
03 - 12 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

→ Rice

04 - 4 cups cooked white rice, preferably day-old

→ Vegetables

05 - 1.5 cups finely chopped onions and bell peppers

→ Liquids

06 - 2 cups low sodium chicken broth

→ Oils & Thickeners

07 - 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
08 - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

→ Spices & Seasonings

09 - 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning
10 - 1 tablespoon dried oregano
11 - 3 teaspoons minced garlic
12 - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
13 - 1 tablespoon garlic powder
14 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
15 - 1 teaspoon chili powder
16 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
17 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
18 - Pinch cayenne pepper

# Steps to Make This:

01 - Toss shrimp with seafood seasoning until evenly coated. Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear shrimp 2-3 minutes per side until opaque and curled. Remove and set aside.
02 - Add remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to skillet. Add ground beef and pork sausage, breaking into pieces. Cook until browned and fragrant, stirring frequently.
03 - Stir in onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic with meats. Cook over medium heat until vegetables are tender and meat is fully browned.
04 - Sprinkle oregano, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper over mixture. Stir to combine. Add flour and stir well to evenly coat.
05 - Pour in chicken broth while scraping skillet bottom to lift browned bits. Bring to gentle simmer and cook 5-7 minutes until sauce thickens and flavors meld.
06 - Gently fold cooked rice into skillet, mixing thoroughly to coat grains with sauce. Continue simmering 5 minutes to heat through.
07 - Return seared shrimp to skillet, folding gently to combine without breaking. Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Use day-old rice or freshly cooled rice separated with fork to prevent clumping.
02 - Toasting spices with meat and vegetables enhances depth and aroma.
03 - Fold shrimp gently to maintain tenderness and prevent rubbery texture.
