French Onion Pork Chops (Printer-Friendly)

Juicy pork chops simmered with sweet caramelized onions and a creamy onion gravy topped with cheese.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Pork

01 - 3 boneless pork chops, approximately 3/4 inch thick

→ Seasoning

02 - Salt, to taste
03 - Black pepper, to taste

→ Cooking Oils

04 - 2 tablespoons olive oil

→ Vegetables

05 - 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced

→ Liquids and Broth

06 - 1 cup low sodium beef broth

→ Seasoning Mixes

07 - 1 packet onion soup mix (approximately 28 grams)

→ Cheese

08 - 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese

→ Garnish

09 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

# Steps to Make This:

01 - Season both sides of the pork chops evenly with salt and black pepper.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork chops and sear each side for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown. Remove pork chops and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, add sliced onions. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 10 minutes.
04 - Stir beef broth and onion soup mix into the caramelized onions. Bring mixture to a simmer.
05 - Nestle the seared pork chops into the onion and broth mixture. Cover skillet and simmer on low heat for approximately 15 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F.
06 - Sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese evenly over the pork chops. Cover the skillet and allow cheese to melt for 2 to 3 minutes.
07 - Optionally sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top before serving with onion gravy spooned on the pork chops.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For optimal juiciness, ensure pork chops are not overcooked and reach an internal temperature of 145°F.
