Crock Pot Taco Meat (Printer-Friendly)

Simple slow cooked meat with salsa and seasoning, perfect for tacos or versatile meal prep.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Meat

01 - 2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean, 10% fat)

→ Seasonings

02 - 2 tablespoons taco seasoning

→ Sauce

03 - 1 cup salsa

# Steps to Make This:

01 - Place raw ground beef in a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Use a spatula to break up the meat into smaller pieces.
02 - Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the beef. Pour the salsa on top, then mix thoroughly to combine all ingredients.
03 - Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, or on low for 4 hours. Stir occasionally and break up the beef further as it cooks for a finer texture.
04 - Stir the cooked taco meat and serve as a filling for tacos, salads, or other favorite dishes.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Choose a lean ground beef to reduce rendered fat, as the mixture will not be drained after cooking.
02 - Swap ground beef for ground turkey or pork as desired. Adjust salsa type to control spiciness.
03 - For a more crumbly texture, stir and break up meat several times during cooking.
