06 - 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped or chips
07 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

02 - In a large bowl, blend the creamy peanut butter and softened butter using an electric mixer until smooth.
03 - Gradually add the powdered sugar, then mix in the vanilla extract and salt until fully combined and slightly crumbly.
04 - Press the peanut butter mixture evenly into the prepared pan with gentle, firm pressure.
05 - In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate and butter in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
06 - Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter base and spread evenly with an offset spatula to cover completely.
07 - Refrigerate the bars for 10 to 20 minutes or until the chocolate topping is firm but not rock hard.
08 - Using a sharp knife warmed in hot water and dried, slice the bars into 16 squares and enjoy.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For clean slicing, warm the knife in hot water and dry it between cuts to prevent chocolate cracking.
02 - Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to several weeks or freeze individually wrapped for extended storage.
