Ham Cheese Air Fryer Pockets (Printer-Friendly)

Crispy tortilla pockets filled with melty cheddar jack cheese and ham, ready quickly in the air fryer.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Base

01 - 8-inch flour tortillas, medium size, fresh and soft

→ Protein

02 - Deli ham, sliced, finely chopped, approximately 120 grams

→ Dairy

03 - Shredded cheddar jack cheese, about 120 grams, freshly shredded preferred
04 - Butter, softened, 2 tablespoons (30 grams)

# Steps to Make This:

01 - Stack the tortillas on a microwave-safe plate, cover with a damp paper towel, and microwave for 20 seconds until soft and pliable to prevent tearing during folding.
02 - Finely chop the sliced ham to ensure even distribution in each pocket.
03 - Place 1/4 cup (about 30 grams) of shredded cheese in the center of each tortilla, then add a handful of chopped ham over the cheese. Top with a small additional sprinkle of cheese for extra meltiness.
04 - Fold the outer edges of the tortilla inward, then fold in half to enclose the filling. Press firmly along the edges to seal completely, preventing cheese leakage.
05 - Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and allow it to heat for about 3 minutes.
06 - Brush each folded pocket with softened butter, then sprinkle extra shredded cheese atop each. Press the cheese lightly into the butter to ensure it adheres during cooking.
07 - Place the pockets seam side down in the air fryer basket. Cook for 5 minutes, checking halfway through to ensure even browning and crispness.
08 - Remove the pockets carefully with tongs and let rest for 1 to 2 minutes before serving to allow the filling to settle and prevent burns.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Warming tortillas prior to filling prevents cracks and tearing, ensuring a pliable wrap.
02 - Press the cheese topping into the butter to create a flavorful, crispy crust during air frying.
03 - Pockets can be frozen before cooking for up to three months; reheat directly in the air fryer for best results.
